  1. Subject: Kenwood TS-570D MARS/CAP Modification.
  2.  
  3. This modification is provided "as is".
  4.  
  5. It is illegal to operate outside the limits of your class license or 
  6. permits.
  7.  
  8. 1.  Disconnect the power cord and antenna coax from the transceiver.
  9.  
  10. 2.  Remove the top and bottom covers.
  11.  
  12. 3.  Remove the top screw from each side of the front panel assembly.
  13.  
  14. 4.  Loosen the bottom screw from each side of the front panel assembly.
  15.  
  16. 5.  Carefully rotate the front panel forward to gain access to the 
  17. Control board (X53-3690-10).
  18.     This board is mounted vertically against the body of the 
  19. transceiver.  It is not the board 
  20.     that is mounted in the front panel assembly.
  21.  
  22. 6.  Locate and remove the chip resistor R41 from the Control board.
  23.  
  24. 7.  Assemble the transceiver then perform the CPU reset procedure by 
  25. holding the A=B button 
  26.     depressed as power is turned on.
